About us
Trad Quartett brings the living dance music traditions of the German-speaking regions into the present. Our mission is to share the depth, colour, and drive of these tunes both at home and abroad – authentically, emotionally, and in a contemporary sound.
Ursula Suchanek (quinton fiddle), Torge Nonn (winds),
Bandik Nonn (double bass) and Alexander Peters (guitar)
combine broad musical backgrounds from different parts of Germany.
Together we uncover traditional dance melodies from old manuscripts and
reshape them with fresh musical influences and a modern sense of groove.
Drawing on a wide range of styles – from northern polkas to elegant polonaises and wild Swabian dances – we create a vivid dialogue between past and future. Our music carries regional traditions forward with energy, respect, and a sound that simply makes people want to move.
